Many people diagnosed with IBS continue to have chronic symptoms, with minimal or intermittent relief from medications. If you are experiencing this, you may have small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and/or fructose malabsorption. These are conditions that have been known to cause symptoms attributed to IBS. Dr. Buckle can help determine if testing for SIBO or fructose malabsorption is appropriate for you and successfully address the cause of your symptoms.
Are you concerned about the chronic use of medications such as acid blockers (PPIs or H2 blockers) for treating Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER) or laxatives for treating constipation? Dr. Buckle can help uncover the cause of the chronic symptoms. She can then guide you to natural alternatives to help treat the cause and wean you off medications, as appropriate.
Many patients with mild to moderate Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis aim to avoid treatment with biologics. Natural supplements, diet, and lifestyle changes may be able to improve outcomes, induce remission, and avoid treatments with biologics.
Dr. Buckle understands that there are many aspects of an individual that contribute to symptoms associated with health concerns. As such, she takes into consideration not only a specific diagnosis, but how mental/emotional, lifestyle, and dietary factors interact with symptoms as well.
Dr. Buckle is a Naturopathic Doctor and, as such, follows the therapeutic order. Her approach combines the best of natural healing agents (including supplements, dietary, and lifestyle recommendations) along with prescription medications when necessary.
You will receive a customized treatment plan that includes:
• Supplement recommendation for safe and effective ways to heal the GI tract and address symptoms.
• Instructions for implementing therapeutic diets such as the low FODMAP diet, or specific carbohydrate diet (SCD), as appropriate
• Prescription medications may be necessary and helpful when used appropriately in combination with natural healing agents.

What is a Naturopathic Doctor?
Naturopathic doctors are educated and trained in accredited naturopathic medical colleges. Dr. Buckle received an ND degree from Bastyr University in 2008. NDs diagnose, prevent, and treat acute and chronic illness to restore and establish optimal health by supporting the body’s inherent self-healing process. Rather than just suppressing symptoms, naturopathic doctors work to identify underlying causes of illness and develop personalized treatment plans to address them
